Matt had his annual work trip to Destin this past weekend, so me and the kids decided to pack up and meet a friend over in Pass Christian, Mississippi for a couple of nights. Her in-laws have a Summer house there that is absolutely beautiful. My family actually grew up going there and it’s been so much fun to go back and take my kids now. It is close to the beach, on the water, has a pool, boat and golf cart; so the kids were in heaven. And I was excited to have some time to catch up with my friend (hey Mere)! We left at lunch time on Thursday and the kids were angels in the car. Madelyn slept almost the whole trip (about a 2.5 hour drive) and Brody just watched the iPad.
As soon as we got there, the kids were ready to throw on their swimsuits and hop in the pool. We played in the pool most of the afternoon and then had a casual dinner at the house after we put the kids to bed.
Friday morning, all Brody could talk about was doughnuts! Meredith took my two kids to go pick out doughnuts and I stayed back with baby Brooks. We had a leisurely morning, ate doughnuts, walked to the park, and then loaded up to go to the beach for a bit. It was Brooks first time at the beach and he LOVED the sand. It was so cute to watch him play. My kids wanted to be in the water the whole time! Thankfully it has warmed up.
Friday night Meredith’s husband came to join us. We had a little girl time and I showed her how to use my new LipSense. This girl loves her some pink lip gloss, so I had to show her my new discovery. How gorgeous does she look?? This color is Strawberry Shortcake and you can find it from my friend Emily. I have two more colors coming my way and I can’t wait.
Her hubby took us on a nice happy hour cruise Friday evening and the kids had a pretty good time. Brody is used to our slow pontoon boat at home, so he was pretty excited to go fast on this speedy boat.
Saturday morning was pretty chill with some thunderstorms trying to roll in. We had breakfast and slowly packed up to head back home. Matt was getting home today and we were all meeting up back at home.
We spent most of Saturday just recovering. The kids and myself were worn out! Sunday threatened thunderstorms all day too, so we mostly played around the house. We ended with weekend with my brother’s family over for dinner and playtime! It was a great weekend catching up before a big week ahead.
