Welcome to Thoughts for Thursday. Today is a random array of goodies for you that I have come across or that’s been on my mind this week.
I think I saw this on someones Instastory. I’ve heard Charcoal pills could be good for hangovers, but has anyone ever tried these?? Not that I ever get a hangover (wink, wink), but I thought these were interesting. Nothing is worse than a hangover with young kids, so I’d purchase just about anything in case of an emergency :).
If you eat oatmeal and haven’t tried adding canned pumpkin to yours yet, you need to try it! I love my oatmeal with a mashed banana, cinnamon, pumpkin and pecans. So yummy!
I’ve done lots of little organizing projects around the house. It seems like most of them I can’t get 100% complete. This week I tackled 3 junk drawers and this cabinet underneath our kitchen sink. I’ve also been trying to finish our pantry. It’s looking really good and I do plan to share that with you guys. I like the lazy Susan for under the sink. I picked mine up at the container store.
Liz from Sequins and Stripes shared this recipe on her instastories this week and it looked sooo good!! You could add some shrimp to this too I bet and be amazing.
I’m posting this selfie from yesterday mainly because I’m making it look like Fall here but really it’s 100 degrees. It’s been so crazy hot and humid and muggy. It’s gross. I’m actually dressed like this because I had to take my hubby to the hospital for a surgery on his elbow. Sadly this is the second surgery this year on his little elbow, so lets pray this one works. So I had to dress warm because I know it’s always freezing in the hospital. I have so many pretty sweaters begging me to wear them in my closet and I can’t wear any of them 🙁
It’s looking like Fall around my house and I snapped some photos this week to give ya’ll a full Fall tour next week.
Brody is in pre-K 4 this year. His teacher shared this app recently called the Little Writer. I think it’s so cute and a fun way to teach him how to write his letters, numbers, shapes, etc. He is not into writing at all with me at home, so I’m trying to find fun ways for him to learn. Do your 4 year olds like to write?? Do you have any educational apps for that age that you love?? I’m tempted by ABC Mouse, but I think it’s like $7/month. Anyone tried it?
Sometimes I feel like I write less and less about these two little cuties here on the blog and I know that’s what a lot of you come here for. For some reason it seems harder to write about them as much as they get older or there is a little bit less to share. I’m not sure. What type of kids stuff do you like to hear about now that they are no longer babies??
Lastly, I posted on my instastories last night that I would love for you guys to send me some questions. You can ask anything…blogging, family, food, home, travel, whatever. I got quite a few good ones last night that I can’t wait to answer. They came in too late for me to post them today, but I will dedicate a whole post with all your questions tomorrow. We will call it, Ask Annie. I’ve really enjoyed reading similar Q & A style posts from other bloggers because I think its a great way to get to know them and their personalities a little better. So send me an email with your questions to annieamalone@gmail.com with the subject line, Ask Annie or write a comment below 🙂
Link up starts at 7 am EST.
Handwriting without tears workbooks, with small ( golf pencils or broken crayons helps with holding writing instrument correctly), also an easel or taping papers to a wall. the apps don’t help as much as learning to really write. Additionally, stress letter recognition and simple sight words to be prepared for next year.
We lived in south Tampa for a few years, miss some stuff but we now live in Nashville which has amazing extended falls !
Thanks Elizabeth! That’s so helpful. We will have to try some of that!
holiday traditions for your family ? your favorite enteraining ideas ? And basic pantry staples (whenever we end up entertaining at last minute — I end up having to order in good at last minute)
Would love your ideas on those
Love these! Will answer in tomorrow’s post!
Yum, that oatmeal looks delish! I have all of those items in my pantry right now and need to try it after I drop Walker off at school this morning. Loving your sweater you wore to the hospital!
Hope your hubby is doing okay today! That oatmeal looks like fall in a bowl and I want to try it! Question – I got to go to Rosemary Beach this week and now I know why you love it so much there! If you could travel and vacation any where in the world, where would it be? One trip with adults only and one family trip?!
Ahh isn’t it the best???? So glad y’all loved it. Will answer this in tomorrow’s post!
Aw, sorry your husband had to have surgery again! I hope everything works out now. And boo to such hot weather. I’m finally getting some cooler weather and I LOVE it. I’m actually wearing a new sweater today and it makes me so happy. Fall is my favorite time of the year. 🙂

Q for your q&a- have you guys thought about adding a 3rd babe to the mix? And/or do you know your family is “complete”?
I have never tried them, but I have heard that charcoal pills work! I also love that sweater, but holy moly it is HOT out still! I’m not used to these Southern Falls. I hope Matt is feeling better and no more surgeries are needed. We tried ABC Mouse and it’s good but they got bored after a month. My kids both love GoNoodle and have used it in school since pre-school. You should definitely try that!
