Thoughts for Thursday | Madelyn turns Two

Hey friends!  My little baby turns TWO today!! It’s hard for me to believe.  I’m kind of obsessed with this age, but I also hate that she is old enough to start disobeying me.  She is full of personality.  She has this raspy, deep voice that always makes me laugh.  She literally repeats everything Brody says and also tries to do everything he does.  It’s funny, but can also be bad.  She loves her big brother, Winnie the Pooh, and baby dolls.  She is a tough little cookie, but still our little princess.

I have done a TERRIBLE job planning any type of party for her this year.  I had the perfect theme all along because she is obsessed with Winnie the Pooh, but I just couldn’t decide on a party.  Honestly, I just got lazy and knew I wanted to keep it small anyway; so were just having family over for dinner and cake.

I’m pretty excited about her birthday gifts.  It’s all around the fact that she loves baby dolls!  She is getting her first Bitty Baby which is the American Girl baby doll with this precious little changing table.   She is always playing at the little baby changing table that they have in her classroom and when I saw this one, I knew she had to have it!  My MIL also found her this awesome baby doll that is literally 20″ which is the size of a real newborn baby.  I can’t wait to watch her walk around the house with this giant baby!  I would love to know if you have any other great toy ideas for 2 year old girls?? I always joke that Madelyn literally just plays with all of Brody’s toys with the exception of baby dolls.  I feel like thats the only thing thats really hers.

I cooked this Slow Cooker 3 Bean Turkey Chili last night and it was really good.   Several of you asked about it from my instastories.  I did add a little more chili powder and cumin than the recipe called for; but otherwise, it was perfect.

I have binge watched this A&E special about Laci Peterson the last two days.  I was able to watch it On Demand, but you can problem watch it online.  It is only about 5 episodes.   Tonight on ABC, there is a brand new documentary coming out with never before scenes apparently.  It’s called Truth and Lies.  Set your DVR if you were sucked into this murder case as much as me!

Lastly, we started putting out our Halloween decorations already.  I wanted to let everyone know that PBKids has already put a bunch of their Halloween stuff on sale including Halloween costumes.  They always have cute ones to choose from.
