Welcome to Thoughts for Thursday. You are welcome to share anything you would like with us and link-up below with Natalie and I.
+ I was taking the kids to school yesterday and there was a terrible wreck on the bridge on our way there. I could tell traffic was at a standstill and we were going to be stuck forever. I was able to turn around, take them to the gym with me and then figured I could try dropping them off again after. Nope, the traffic was still horrible after the gym; so off we went back home and the kids skipped school. While Madelyn took a morning nap, me and Brody decided to bake some cupcakes for his classroom Thanksgiving party this week . They turned out pretty cute 🙂
+ Sausage and Cornbread Dressing – I made this dressing for Brody’s class Thanksgiving for today and it is so good! If you are in charge of cooking for your Thanksgiving, I highly recommend this one. It’s simple with not too many ingredients and I always cheat and buy my corn bread at the store. I love Fresh Market’s corn bread because it has a little sweetness to it and is not too dry at all!
- Did you know that typically in the South it is referred to as dressing and in the North it’s referred to as Stuffing?? Have you ever noticed that??
+ $3oo Amazon Giveaway – If you haven’t entered this giveaway yet, today is your last day!! It ends at midnight tonight and who wouldn’t love some Amazon cash to knock out some Holiday shopping??
+ Link Love – Here’s a few of my favorite links from the week as I’ve been trying to get ahead for Christmas.
- I love this Christmas Checklist that Erika put together this week. It reminded me of several things we are adding to our Christmas tradition this year now that Brody is older.
- Free Printable for Advent Calendar activities with Kids.
- I want to purchase an Advent Calendar for the kids this year because we don’t have one. Do you have a favorite??
- Who is doing Elf on the Shelf this year???? This will be our first year and I’m pretty excited. I was looking for some good free printable and ideas. I think we are going to go with the North Pole breakfast. I found a cute letter here, but it’s $2.99 to purchase.
- Jessica just posted some cute holiday style for the minis. I’ve had a few requests to do a post on finding some holiday clothes for the kiddos that I’m trying to work on too.
Stuffing is one of my favorite Thanksgiving sides. Yours looks so yummy! 🙂 We love our Elf on the Shelf. I have it all planned out and a post ready to go up tomorrow! Ha ha! Bring on the holidays!
Oh good!! I will steal your tips then!
I just entered the giveaway! We are doing elf on the shelf for the first time this yes too. I’m trying to get it together to do a North Pole breakfast next week. I found a cute letter on Pinterest. I’ll send you the link!
Yeah send me the link because the one I found said it was free on Pinterest but they obviously started charging for it!
Where I live, we don’t have to deal with traffic, but we have to worry about deer running into our cars all the time. I can’t even begin to tell you how many of my cars have been totaled over the years due to deer. And yes, we call it Stuffing in the north! Thanks for the link up!
There is that problem around here in some areas too!! How sad and frustrating is that??
That ‘stuffing’ looks so good 🙂 I found the cutest advent calendar at target actually! It’s a banner of little stockings and you move the little reindeer to the next stocking everyday. I’m planning on hanging it on our mantel and I figure it would be a fun little game for Cam to do everyday. We are not yet at Elf on the Shelf age and I’m kind of glad lol!
The cupcakes are adorable! And that dressing? Yessssss.
OMG… that sausage and cornbread dressing!! Yes please! Looks amazing.

It’s so yummy!
Both those food items look SO good! Also, this is the first I’m seeing the new blog design (didn’t realize the URL changed and I wasn’t getting them in GFC!) and I love it!! So pretty!
Thanks gal!! I know, I hate that all the feeds can’t update automatically!
I bought an advent calendar from PBK last year that I love. It’s one of those decorations that I think my kids will excited for us to pull out every year. It’s one where you just move the candy cane – which I appreciate since I won’t have to fill it with chocolate year after year!
Yes, this year I was going to put little activities to do with Brody that I’m pretty stoked about! I love going to go driving around and looking at Christmas lights!
Your stuffing looks amazing!
lol..and I don’t know why I just typed stuffing because we ALWAYS call it dressing. blonde moment
Haha I know it’s funny how people are used to either one way or another !
The cupcakes AND the stuffing/dressing look phenomenal – I’m not quite sure which one I’m hungry for at this exact moment…a little of both, I guess 🙂 Thanks so much for hosting!
