We celebrated Madelyn’s 3rd Birthday this weekend with one of her best buddies, Harry! We decided it would be fun to throw a pool party for them together and since Madelyn’s real birthday (September 14th) falls just 3 days after my due date, I thought it would be easier to have it early!
The idea all came when we fell in love with these precious ice cream swimsuits and decided to run with the cute theme. I contacted my favorite invitation girls at Nico & Lala to draw up the invites and then it all started to come together.
We knew we wanted to keep it pretty simple. We had the party at the Pensacola Yacht Club pool and just set up a couple of tables to serve drinks, mimosas, watermelon, chicken fingers and club sandwiches! It was SO nice to have it somewhere and not at the house! It made the party so easy.
The decorations were simple and I was going to grab an easy cake from Publix but then had a change of heart at the last minute. We enlisted our local baker, Cake Gallery, to run with a cute design based on our invitations and he blew us away. It turned out so cute. We served ice cream with it and the kids were thrilled!
It was super hot, but at least you could hop in the pool to cool off. It was a great day and happy we got to have a special celebration.
