Faster Way To Fat Loss | Round One

Okay friends, I am here to report back on my experience from my very first round of Faster Way to Fat Loss.  To give you a little background, I have been married for almost 7 years and spent the last 6.5 years being pregnant,  breastfeeding, trying to lose the pregnancy weight all to just get pregnant again!  So we are finally finished reproducing (3 babies later) and I am ready to take care of myself!

I love good food, good wine and a great time which is always what gets in the way of my weight loss journeys.  Honestly, skinny has never been my thing; but I have definitely felt a lot better than I do right now.  I am here to find that balance and try to live in moderation.

I have been watching “instafriends” do this FWTFL program for about a year now and was always very quick to say NO WAY.  Not for me.  I EAT BREAKFAST.  I love breakfast, in fact.  I truly couldn’t imagine waiting until 11 or 12pm to eat my first bite of food everyday.  All I can tell you is that Intermittent fasting has become my favorite part of the program!  I can’t believe how much I like it or how much easier it has become for me.  Intermittent fasting means eating in an 8 hour window and fasting for 16 hours in a day.  I eat from 11am to 7pm.  A few weeks ago, I did a post on FAQ that I received about the program.  Go read it here if you need to catch up.  So I really love the feeling of being done eating for the day by 7pm.  I sleep better.  I wake up feeling so much less bloated, hungry and just feel thinner!

Every morning I drink my coffee (2 cups/maybe even 3) and that is what gets me through my fast.  You are allowed to have 50 calories during your fast.  So I drink the 15 calorie almond milk creamer and I actually love it.  This program has switched me from an iced coffee drink in the morning to a hot coffee drinker.  Iced coffee just requires a lot more milk or almond milk and it’s just not worth taking up all of my 50 calories for one drink!

One thing that the program encourages that I did not do this round is a gluten-free and dairy-free diet.  I knew that my coach didn’t do that and lots of others don’t, so I was very comfortable not participating in eliminating those items from my diet.  The truth is, I do eliminate a lot more dairy than I used to.  I have made the switch to almond milk, but I’m not giving up my cheese!  So really, its a total personal preference.

I mentioned that the intermittent fasting was my favorite part of the program and it really has.  It is the part that I concentrate on the most.  I try hard every day to follow that.  However, life does get in the way and there were days that fasting didn’t happen.  I either was out for dinner or a party and ate late or I went out to breakfast with my family on the weekend.  But, other than that, I made it a priority.  I will also try to eat later in the day sometimes if I have been out the night before.   Where I will break my fast around 1pm instead of 11am.  I love the flexibility.  The second thing I made a big priority was the two low carb days we have on Monday and Tuesday.  It was a great way for me to restart the week, get on track and feel my best.  It is always the weekends that I tend to indulge more, so using Monday and Tuesday to be really strict felt good.

Your coach will teach you all about these days that are listed about.  The macro part of the program is the most intimidating, but I promise you will get it down.  Regular macro days are the bomb because that’s when you get to add back in the carbs (that glass of wine!) and enjoy yourself a bit.  You get to eat A LOT on this program.  Truly.  It feels weird at first.

I have a whole post to share with you guys about all the things I eat and meals that I prepped.  I also might include a little bit about fitness, but the main thing you should know is that I just did my best and it definitely wasn’t perfect.  I aimed to workout about 3 times per week.  I would say I did pretty good with that.  I work out with a trainer once a week and then tried to do 2 rides on Peloton each week.  The program actually offers you some amazing workout material for all phases, but I didn’t use those this time.

I know that you guys are really just here for the pictures.  You want those before and after photos that are always so embarrassing to post!! So I am going to give them to you because I know they help.  I am also going to share with you what I lost in inches.  I’m pretty amazed.   Amazed because I worked really hard, but I also was so imperfect.  I traveled to NYC, went to birthday parties, traveled to New Orleans, celebrated my own birthday and even with all that; still had amazing results!  Maybe not as big of numbers as I could have seen, but still wonderful results.

I lost 3 inches from my lower tummy (about 1″ below belly button/ the thickest part of my tummy), 2 ” from upper belly (about 1″ above belly button), 1″ from around my boobs, and 1″ from each upper thigh.  That makes a total of 8 inches.  WOW! I did not lose any inches from my hips (maybe .5 inch) or my arms which I was a little disappointed about, but knew that my tummy would be the first to go.  I lost 4 pounds and just under 3% body fat!  So I would have loved to seen more pounds lost but was completely AMAZED to see I had lost just under 3% body fat.  This is the body fat machine that I used.  It is showing that its out of stock right now, but also found it here

The program prides itself in “non-scale” victories.  They do not want you to weigh at all throughout the program.  And I actually completely get why they say that.   I would have been discouraged at some point if I had seen I had only lost a pound or two, but yet I could measure my belly and see how quickly it was flattening up.

I have been so happy with the program and my progress that I am already signed up for another round!! It starts tomorrow with my coach Kristen and I am so excited to keep this train going!  Monday starts prep week (thankfully), because I am heading to Las Vegas this week and know I will have plenty of “cheats”, but I will be so excited to get home and get right back on the band wagon.  The Faster Way to Fat Loss also encourages the saying, “Progress not Perfection.”  That is how I feel.  I am making progress, most definitely not being perfect, but finding a way of life that feels sustainable for the way that I like to live!! That is everything to me.

December 31 vs February 15

If you have more questions about the program, feel free to leave it in the comments, email me, or DM me on instagram.

If you are interested in joining me on this next round with my coach Kristen, you can do that by clicking this link.  This will ensure that Kristen is your coach.  She’s amazing and super helpful and encouraging throughout the program.  I can’t say enough good things.

I hope this helps. I know its super encouraging for me to read other peoples journeys and I’ve just been so thankful for this program and structure so far.  I am looking forward to another 6 weeks with the Faster Way.

Thank you for sharing your FWTFL journey. I’m starting week 4 tomorrow and I love it. My biggest struggle is being a night shift nurse, but my coach Allie has been wonderful helping me through all the glitches! Like you, I thought “skipping breakfast” would be difficult, but it really isn’t. I switched over to Nut Pods for my coffee and I’m super happy. Intermittent fasting is amazing! I feel less bloated, less cranky and full! Good luck with your second round…I also will be signing up!

Go you! Gotta be a great feeling to have success and see it and feel it too! I’m still trying to figure out a plan that will work for and I can afford. So many are so expensive and yet I’ve done so many too. Ugh. So frustrating. Keep up the great work. 🙌🏻☺️
